I get excited when K.K. Allen announces she has a new book coming out. And with each new release, this author just keeps getting better and better. Center of Gravity is about as close to perfect as a story can get. Seriously, K.K. Allen didn't miss a beat playing on every single emotion. My heart is full from such an astounding, heartfelt book. The passion behind the words and the grace with which the story unfolds hooked me from the very first chapter. The bond that Lex and Shane have, sacrificing so much just so they can dance. Then, the chemistry that exists between Theo and Lex totally took this story to a new high. He was so alluring and captivating. It's no wonder the bond he has with her. There is magic in Allen's words and you MUST read this book to get the full-effect it is going to have on you. Just do it because you're going to get so absorbed into the story, you won't come up for air until the end. Five well-deserved stars!!

If I could sum up this book with one word it would be EPIC. This is so unique and so full of passion for dancing it makes you get up off your butt while reading and just dance! THIS BOOK WAS BEYOND AMAZING!!! I LOVED EVERYTHING!! 💖💖💖💖 Definitely a must read!!! “She was moonlight and magic when she danced, leaving stardust in her wake.” “Dance was the language of Theo’s soul. He bled in sweat. He breathed in the music. And he radiated passion through every square inch of his body.” “Dancing with Lex filled me with an energy I didn’t know I’d been missing—a void that I’d masked for so long. It was easy to feed off her strength, her passion, and every time our eyes connected or our bodies touched, I knew it wasn’t a one-way thing.” “For once in my life, I wanted to break the rules, just to find out how good the consequences could be.” “This was how it was supposed to feel. Passionate in a breathless sort of way. And wrong in a way that also felt right.” AMEI. AMEI. AMEI e recomendo demais!!! 💖💖

It felt like a Step Up movie was flashing in front of my eyes, only 100 times better and you must know Step Up movies are one of my guilty (not so guilty) pleasures. I'm obsessed with them, so it came as no surprise that I completely irrevocably loved everything about this book and I wanted to reread it as soon as it ended. The reading experience was phenomenal, KK has links to the dances and getting that visual made the experience even better. And just Theo and Lex, swoon! They were so perfect and fun and I just loved them to pieces. Their story was full of undeniable chemistry and a connection so powerful it was insane. They had their fair share of hate/love, rivalry and the dramas of the dancing world and celebrities and it was so fun to read. I really love the secondary characters too, Lex's best friends is the man and I loved him!! But Theo and Lex were both such special and unique characters, you must meet them! Center of Gravity is a MUST read! I honestly need more books like this in my life. And the cover is perfect... if you thought it was gorgeous, well you're right and you are in for such a treat because this book matches its cover 10 fold. ➳ARC kindly provided by author, in exchange for an honest review. ➳ Order at: Amazon UK ⁕ Amazon US ➳ Follow me on: Blog ⁕ Instagram ⁕ Facebook ⁕ Twitter

What an exquisite read and this is my first ever book I’ve read from this author. I was captivated from the very start and read this book in one sitting. The angst and the slow burn these characters had for one another had me hooked and my passion for anything related to dancing was an extra bonus. The emotion I felt for the heroine Lex is heartfelt throughout this book. Her passion for dance and her dream to make it big in the dance industry is dedication that every dancer should show. However, when her dancing career is put in the hands of our hero Theo, her dream to make it big doesn’t seem to be coming to fruition how she hoped it would. Theo is an arrogant choreographer and basically a jerk to her but I was hooked on their chemistry and their banter. The build up had me on edge and panting for things to occur faster but that’s what grips you, that slow burn of wanting something forbidden to happen right then and there. If you love tense chemistry and stories that have endless bounds of energy then I highly recommend this beautiful story. Your heart will soar with every page.

Oh my goodness! Lex and Theo's romance is a deliciously sexy and angsty slow burn that had me so invested in their story that I was glued to my Kindle. K.K. I will admit that going into this book, I was a little worried about connecting with the dance scenes and their emotion because it is so different than watching them in a movie or TV show. All of my curiosity and worry and expectations were needless and blown away by K.K. Allen's writing. Her words alone made me feel like I had a front row seat to every dance number in Center of Gravity and the emotion from the dancers poured off of the pages. The way she made this story interactive for readers is GENIUS! It really brought the dancing to life and was a pleasant bonus to K.K. Allen's writing. The characters and emotions in COG are the main reason why it is not only my new favorite K.K. Allen book, but it is also my current top read of 2018!

*Spoilers* There were moments while reading this book that made my body restless and left it feeling too small for my skin. Aside from that, the emotions felt were mostly negative, ranging from impatience to boredom which I suppose might have been the consequence of having read the numerous glowing reviews, leading to heightened expectations. However, and sadly, my expectations were largely left unfulfilled, despite Allen's very valiant attempt at writing a forbidden love story. The Characters Theo *Spoilers* There were moments while reading this book that made my body restless and left it feeling too small for my skin. The Characters Theo- Choreographer extraordinaire and also our H Lex- Dancer, our h Shane- Lex's bestie Freddie**- the requisite bad guy, also a dancer Amie- Lex's friend and fellow dancer who of course likes Lex for no apparent reason Winter- the superstar Gravity Dance Studio-it's where most of the book transpires, so, yes, it counts as a character. The Plot Theo is a famous choreographer recently selected to choreograph Winter's 6-month long Vegas show; while Lex and Shane are 4 months into their stay in LA, having moved from Seattle to pursue their dreams of dancing in movies and music videos. As I mentioned, Shane is the bestie, but he is also the requisite gay character who is both flamboyant and a cross-dresser. More importantly, I felt he was there merely to act as a psychological prop to Lex's insecurities and low self-esteem. Meanwhile, Winter is casting for dancers and luckily, Lex is among the 12 dancers picked to work with Theo. Although their initial 2 or 3 meetings were contentious, Theo and Lex soon found themselves working together and naturally, they develop "feelings" while having to contend with a no-fraternising rule. My Thoughts Firstly, the no-fraternising rule was total BS because, Lex, as any newbie in the industry, ought to have had enough sense to know that sleeping with your boss is a no-no, not unless you want a label as having slept your way to success. I disliked that she had little sense of self-preservation, but more than this, I hated that the author attempted to portray her as this saintly wide-eyed virgin who was oblivious to her beauty and talent. Next, I found Theo generic and let's not forget that he slept with Winter at the start of the book, right after he met Lex. Objectively, I know Theo and Lex weren't yet a couple still I found it distasteful. Lastly, at the apex of my dissatisfaction is the supposed "forbidden relationship" which simultaneously seemed forced and inauthentic. Also, as with most of the story; the angst between Freddie, Lex, and Theo simply lacked conviction. There are many other issues, but then you might accuse me of nit-picking *snorts* **I might have mixed up the name but since the book has gone back to KU, there's no way to verify.

If you are a fan of dance movies, THIS is totally a MUST read for you! ”Dance was the language of Theo’s soul. He bled in sweat. He breathed in the music. And he radiated passion through every square inch of his body.” I was super glad I had half a day off on Monday and therefore I could read this book in one sitting. My eyes were glued to the pages, turning one after another and couldn't read fast enough. And at the same time I was dragging getting to its end, because I just wanted to continue reading. ”He was a beautiful man, but it was what he expressed through his body that made him a god.” Center of Gravity was my first book by K.K. Allen and I have no idea why I haven't picked up earlier books by now, even though they are on my tbr pile. I had a blast reading this book, which is filled with livid and vivid characters. It felt almost real and while reading it, it felt like watching a movie in my mind. ”Theo was the epidome of dark and disturbed, and he was exactly the sort of man I needed to stay away from.” K.K. Allen created a perfect mix of character diversity and development combined with love, loss, troubled pasts, friendship, competition and fighting for dreams. ”When she danced it was as if she were speaking directly to me.” Lex is a natural gifted dancer, wanting nothing more than dance for a living. She struggles to accept her inner strength and believe in her abilities. But with her best friend Shane (everyone needs a Shane in his live) by her side she soon finds the courage to go for the spotlight. It also doesn’t hurt that her dance idol Theo seems to hate her and she felt like she needs to prove him wrong. ”She was poetry in motion, and I wanted more of it.” Theo is very talented dancer who already makes a living out of his talents. His way lead him to become one of the most sought-after choreographers. But somehow on his way there he lost himself. Lost the feeling of why he loves to dance, and he feels like he sold his soul. Meeting Lex was for Theo eye-opening. He saw the same fire in Lex that he himself had lost while chasing his dreams. ”Dancing with Lex filled me with an energy I didn’t know I’d been missing – a void that I’d masked for so long.” Together Theo and Lex are pure wonder. They challenge each other on different levels, helping the other to stand-up and fight. And as soon as they realize that they can’t deny their feelings and chemistry towards each other any longer, the dancefloor is on fire. ”She was moonlight and magic when she danced, leaving stardust in her wake.” If I could wish for another dance movie, this book would be it! So I keep my fingers crossed, that someone picks up on this and I’ll be able to watch it soon <3 ”It might have taken me eight months of focus and hard work, bit I’d found my balance. My center. My center of gravity.” A book and its characters that sticks by you long after you've finished it, is definitely worth a 5 star rating! After going to bed dreaming about the story and continue thinking about it more than two days after, I really had to reset my initiate rating from a 4.5 (4) star rating to 5 stars.

He’s a famous choreographer who is set to head a huge show for a famous performer. The moment he and Lex meet you feel the tension. The angst. The heat. The anger. These two on the dance floor are magic. They are crafted to fit one another. Theo is difficult, and very tough around the edges. Lex is his perfect match, on the dance floor, but especially off as well. There was such a poetry to the writing that came along with the dancing, the show, the movements, the chemistry. I felt as if i was sitting right there watching the show. It made the whole story fit so perfectly together. THE SECRETS. THE WHISPERS. THE PURE DEVASTATION OF LOVE AT THE WRONG TIME. To say the least, I loved this book. Kk Allen always floors me with her ability to reel me in, to completely make me fall into A story, into her words, into the chapters, while breaking my heart in the next breath. My favorite 2018 Sports Romance.

My first K.K.Allen book and I’m giving her freaking full star studded credit. I absolutely loved this book. I need someone to hook up Netflix or any movie producers out there to make this into a movie so I can watch it over and over again. Don’t judge me, I love music... I love watching people dance their hearts out. I’m from a culture where when people dance, they’re normally referred to that they ‘dance like the water’ (though I’m no dancer as I have 2 left feet 😂). But K.K. I love watching people dance their hearts out. I’m from a culture where when people dance, they’re normally referred to that they ‘dance like the water’ (though I’m no dancer as I have 2 left feet 😂). But K.K. Allen wrote this magical book with her heart because when I read it, I wanted more of that magic. My favourite thing is that this was more than just a romance novel. Music and dancing was such a big part of it as well. The description of every dance scene... the way the author incorporated music, dancing, passion and love together, and giving us the window to see her vision of such scenes was done so beautifully and perfectly. Trust me when I say ‘WHEN you read this book, read it and watch the videos as you go’. It will give you all the feels of what the author was trying to accomplish. Lex is a Seattle girl who’s chasing the dream in LA as a dancer. Her and her best friend Shane moved to LA for this to be accomplished. Theo is a choreographer and is living the dream Lex is chasing. Lex has admired him since she was young after watching his videos on YouTube for years. Theo does have a sexy side in him. The main characters were not friends in the beginning. But what they have in common, is that dancing is part of who they are and when they dance together, it’s PURE MAGIC. Loved and felt the emotions described about the MCs dance routines! ‘The Cure’ sealed the deal for me. But I love that this book also explores the struggles as well being in these circumstances. The continuous ‘picking up of yourself’ when you’re down. Making the most of the opportunities given. Putting your heart on the line for something/someone you love. Recognising that ‘what makes you different from others, is what makes you great’. Get yourself a copy. Preorder if you can because this was amazing. SN: For all those who are still chasing that dream... keep at it xX

Center of Gravity is like a slow dance. It’s sensual, teasing at things to come. It’s hot and sexy. Leaving tears in your eyes because it’s so emotionally provoked and you don’t want it to end. It’s a cold drink at the end of a summers day. It’s love and regret. It’s perfection. I think the above paragraph describes accurately of how I feel about this book. It’s a cold drink at the end of a summers day. It’s love and regret. It’s perfection. I think the above paragraph describes accurately of how I feel about this book. The characters are so thought out that you believe them to be real. The love and the angst. The slow burn. I loved it all! I could tell you what this book is about. I could go into detail about how much I loved this book. Wait... I think I already did that. I’ll let K.k. Allen’s writing speak for itself. He sighed against my back, causing a flutter in my chest. “I wasn’t capable of seeing you then. Not the way I do now.” “How do you see me now?” I asked, my amusement waiting. His lips moved to my ear. ”As the center of everything.”

The area the book takes place in is never the same, the characters are always different from past books, and she always incorporates many secondary characters, but never to many to make the reader feel lost. Center Of Gravity takes place in LA’s dance world. It explores the audition process, the hard work each and every dancer puts in, and the everyday stressors that go with getting that first audition with the hopes of landing a job. It’s quite apparent that K.K. Allen definitely did her research while writing this book. She knew the ins and outs of the dance world, life in LA, the strenuous work-out schedules, and the intense choreography. Just when I think I had an all time favorite book of hers, I read Center Of Gravity and I immediately know this one is a new favorite. Yet, with all of her books, how do you truly pick just one to call your favorite? Do yourself a favor and grab this as soon as it releases, you will not be disappointed.

Friends...when I tell you this book gave me life, it truly did! I didn't think anything could compare to my love of Up In The Treehouse but I was wrong. This book is my everything! Without question it's in my top favorites of the year. CoG focuses on Theo and Lex. I loved both of these characters beyond words. They felt right. They felt real. Their story felt alive. Not only are the main characters great, I really loved the side characters and want to beg for so many potential spin-offs!! *insert shameless begging here* The "interactive" element that K.K. Allen puts into the e-book completely gave me everything I didn't know I wanted. To experience the dance as she saw it in her head was such a refreshing and beautiful element. It takes the words off the page and gives them sight and sound; it wraps you within it's pages. You're no longer sitting in your chair at home. You are THERE. Make no mistake, this book will make you forget to cook dinner for your family and get your kids in the bath. You won't be thinking of what time you have to get up for work the next morning because you'll want to live at Gravity Performance Center. This story will be the center of your focus.

This novel is a flawless mix of flirty, funny, sexy, moving and utterly appealing! The passion flowing through the pages is remarkable! "If I could rewrite the rules, I'd do it for you." Lex is an aspiring professional dancer trying her chance in Los Angeles. She’s been dancing all her life and is truly talented, but she’s shy and insecure. It’s when she’s on the stage that she truly shines. I liked her relationship with her best friend Shane. This guy really pushes her to express her talent by auditioning, even through the rejections. You feel her passion for dancing, but also her struggles with confidence. Watching her evolution across the chapters, where she blossoms into an assured dancer, but also woman was spellbinding. Theo Noska was a great hero too! At first he’s a complete jerk to Lex making her feel inferior, because she’s still unknown in their field! When she ends up getting a contract for the show he’s choreographing, everything takes a new turn. As much as Theo wants to keep her away, there’s a magnetic connection between them. They try to deny this intense chemistry, but they just bond so easily. I love the sweet development of their relationship! The attraction is felt through every interaction and I was so eager for them to get together, but the fact their contract prohibits a possible romance between them felt tragic. An aspect I appreciated is the fact there’s no big drama in this story. Once Lex and Theo are together, they’re solid! There’s doubts and struggles about their feelings and their futures, but the biggest obstacles are exterior to their illicit liaison! "She was moonlight and magic when she danced, leaving stardust in her wake." K.K. Allen fashioned a genuinely stunning, heartfelt story with Center of Gravity! The dance video links dispersed across the ebook was a delightful touch! It made the immersion into the dance world even more potent! Take a chance on this stunning romance, you won’t regret it! ** ARC received in exchange for an honest review **

Theo and Lex have off the charts chemistry and the forbidden romance filled with angst will keep you turning the pages all night! Their forbidden romance is hot and emotional. I couldn’t get enough! I loved watching their passion of dance start to mold and change into passion for each other. Their journey is not an easy one and there is angst that kept me on the edge of my seat. As far as dancing goes, I am as rookie as can be. I don’t know much about it except for watching some of the classic dance movies and taking some classes when I was really little. Allen did a great job writing the dance scenes and everything about Theo and Lex’s world of dance. I didn’t feel lost or confused at all which allowed me to enjoy every bit of their passion. I never thought one of K.K.’s characters would compete with my love of Gavin from her first contemporary book, Up in the Treehouse, but Leo has taken the crown. I love his brooding, alpha, yet emotional character so much! He’s my favorite new book boyfriend! Next to Theo and Lex, Shane was my favorite character. He was so funny, supportive, and REAL! He gave Lex the kick in the butt when she needed it but was also there for her in every way possible. Everyone needs a best friend like him. There are absolutely brilliant surprises sprinkled throughout this story and when I arrived at the first one I fell in love. It was such genius idea to add these things to the story. You’re sure to LOVE them. That’s all I’ll say about them though because I don’t want to spoil it at all. If you are an angst lover, don’t pass this book up! Go grab our copy as soon as you can, you won’t be disappointed! I really hope that we get some spin-off books in this world! There are so many characters that I’d love to see some of their stories. Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

Center Of Gravity is a beautiful dance romance. I wasn’t sure if a book focused solely on dance could hold my interest but it did. The book was wonderful written and constructed with links to give the reader an interactive experience and the author succeeded with that. I could easily envision Lex when she took everyone’s breath away with her dancing including the choreographer Theo. The story of Lex and her passion for dancing is the story’s center. It’s a life of going to classes, auditions and rejections. Lex doesn’t give up in her pursuit of her dream. She’s a little shy and naive in the beginning but Theo brings out a different side to her and slowly Lex does the same to him. The life of a dancer is an exhausting life and the author captures everything about it leaving me intrigued and invested in Lex and Theo’s journey. Dancing plays an integral part in Lex and Theo’s lives. Lex is an aspiring dancer and Theo a famous choreographer who currently lacks inspiration. Lex changes everything for Theo. Her talent and dancing is the reason why he loves his job. I enjoyed Lex’s growth. As a dancer but also as woman and Theo rediscovering his passion for dancing. They slowly form a friendship but in the dance environment animosity and jealousy often rear its ugly head and it’s no different here. Center Of Gravity satisfied my music and dance loving heart with a gorgeous romance in the center. Lex and Theo took me on a ride and showed me the upsides and downsides of the dancing world. Center Of Gravity is my first book by K.K. Allen and after having finished it I can honestly say it won’t be my last. 4 Balance Stars *Center Of Gravity kindly provided by Social Butterfly PR for an honest review*

Center of Gravity was longer than a lot of books that I have been reading lately, so I estimated that it would take me a day and a half to read, but it too me longer because I wasn’t captivated by it. The problem for me was that, while there was chemistry and sexiness aplenty, and a great story-line. I did not much take to Lex which is a bit of a problem when the book is focused on her and Theo. When I read a romance I want to really become a cheerleader for the couple. I was to an extent because there was a lot of that wonderful chemistry, angst, tension and passion that I always want in a romance. On those fronts it really delivered. It was those aspects that meant that, while I wasn’t captivated, I still enjoyed the story. Another aspect that I always feel is important is that all of the characters that were pivotal to the story but not the focal couple were well developed. I think that if I had taken to Lex more, then I would have found this a pleasure to read. It was well written and a great story. Thank you to K.K Allen and Social Butterfly for providing me with a review copy of Center Of Gravity. This is my honest opinion.

OMGosh, I am smiling!! TWO reasons: I finally read my first book by KK Allen AND I fell in love with Theo and Lex. I seriously have the cheesy grins. I am still smiling after finishing it and getting my thoughts together!! There is so much to discuss, but I can only discuss so much....what a conundrum, right?? I want to start out by saying that I loved KK's flow and her pacing in this book. It was never stagnant and I always felt like I was moving forward with the story. For a new to me author and a new voice to 'hear', I loved it! I have a huge love affair with dance shows (SYTYCD and WoD) and I watch them every season. I know that helped me connect with this book because not only was I able to watch from the outside looking in at all that goes on, but I also got to see some behind the scenes action that I'm not sure I ever really think about, but it's a very true reality. It was like watching a mental movie; I could picture it all and it flowed so well. And then I fell down the rabbit hole. In some of the chapters, to enhance the scene, KK added in links to amazing choreographed dances and I would watch one video, and then another, and then another....see where I'm going with this?? It's not really a problem, but if you're trying to get through the book, the rabbit hole is deeeep. HA!! This book offered me real life situations that I loved working through. The jealousy of being in a group vying for the same position. The forbidden side of falling in love with the one you're not supposed to fall in love with. The connections you can make with your coworkers that you are around all day, every day. I just loved what this one had to offer! It's so discussable....but it would all be a spoiler here. It was upbeat and lively, and the action kept me turning the pages. That sounds cheesy, doesn't it? HAHA! I feel like this book was a fast paced, sweet read, but it had some grit to it. The fact that this was a forbidden love did not go unnoticed, and that added some necessary tension to the storyline. It's also what drew me in initially.... "The only person holding you back from your dream is you." KK Allen built a world around this dance group that allowed me to fall in love with each character, individually and together. Theo was rough around the edges, but seeing him work through his feelings and figuring out his weakness named Lex that stirred up every emotion in him - I loved watching him struggle to come to terms with it. Lex was this very innocent and young, almost naive, young lady that had an air of confidence that she needed to harness. Her strength on the dance floor was amazing, and I don't think she really believed in it either, so I definitely liked seeing her character grow. I adored her, so very much! Talk about an exercise in trust and growth....nailed it! These two had to learn to not only trust themselves, but each other. I liked how she told that side of their story. Cautious, but curious. Excited but apprehensive. Soooo good. I have to tell you this: believe it or not, the minute we met Shane, I thought of Yanis Marshall and loved 'seeing' him in that place. HAHA! I just loved him too! (I would love his story!!) I will admit that angry vengeance and added drama is a little off-putting in a book for me, but that is just a personal preference. It's usually a downfall, as well as over the top family that are just rude, as that generally pulls me out of a book - but thankfully it didn't take away from this one for me. While I wouldn't necessarily say some serious issues weren't 'glossed over' - because overall, they were - slightly, I will say that I like that they weren't the focus of the book and we didn't dwell on them, lending me a lighter feeling for the overall storyline. Every nuance, every action, played a part in the end story, but that hindsight was crystal clear by the time we got through it. It was the road to get there that was slightly bumpy and I was most definitely along for that ride. The could we/should we aspect had me giddy. I realize I love the forbidden side of things, but the way it all played into the drama and all the pain, that was really well written. The buildup and the growth in this story lent an air of angst, but I don't think it was true, heart-heavy angst. But, man! It was good. So so good. Not only did I fall in love with her characters and storyline, I fell in love with her writing and voice. I am so excited to read more by her! I absolutely loved this one.....seriously, still smiling. I never read a dance romance before so I was a bit unsure of how I would feel about it. I actually really liked this one! I really loved Lex! The process/stress of auditions. Partnering. Endless choreography. And the joy of making it to the next level. I LOVE IT ALL!! Alexandra "Alex" Quinn is a struggling dancing, looking to make a big breakthrough, but lacking the confidence. But with the encouragement of her BFF/roommate, Shane, as well as an invitation for another choreographer, she throws caution to the wind to audition with the rude yet sexy choreographer, Theodore "Theo" Noska. For whatever reason, he seems to hate Alex and want her far away from his production. But thanks to other decision makers, he forced to make due. With the inclusion of his POV, we know his verbal sparring with Alex, is a bit of an act, and that proves to complicate things down the road. From there, we go to the intense dance rehearsals, learning the new choreography, while dealing with the drama that is often found in these setting (with some people desperate for attention at all costs). Adding to the tension of succeeding in Winter's Vegas show, is the forbidden element. This is due to every dancer signing a contract that includes a "no fraternization policy". But what is odd about it, is it singles out the choreographer himself. Obviously, there's a backstory to that (which is eventually revealed). Obviously, that rule was going to be broken, or we wouldn't have the angst in the story. "I can't dance with anyone else. Just you." Even though I knew Alex and Theo wouldn't hold out long, I was surprised that once they gave in, how careless they were, throwing caution to the wind for, at the time, was only passionate sex. Why take so many risks? I would have preferred for them to draw out the tension between them. Instead, the tension came from keeping the secret - which they weren't very good at. I also think this whole forbidden element played out to easily in the end. "I swear my body was made to defy gravity." Although I had some issues with the relationship and how it developed, I still relished all of the dance elements of this story. I thought the author captured the highs and lows of the dance world, making it an entertaining and enjoyable read. "How do you see me now?" "As the center of everything." *An ARC was received for an honest review. For more reviews, visit
