I really enjoyed this graphic novel, more then the first once! I do love these stories due to the hilarity they posses! Rose is just a brilliant character! I also love the fact she is depicted as curvy and muscly in these! Promoting healthy weight, not your typical skinny disney princess figure! Ben xo

This was my first graphic novel and I really enjoyed it! The artwork was a little odd at times, but it was a quick read and a nice refresher of Frostbite. I would love to read more graphic novels in the future :D

Please excuse the blurriness because I took the pics with a phone so they're not the best quality. I just wanted to share the Dimka/Adrian love with my co-fans of the lovely, lovely Richelle Mead. But hot damn, these are fun reads if you've already devoured the book series like I did. I'm not complaining about getting to see Dimitri again in comic form. How the artist managed to make a comic book character hot, I don't know. The shirtless pics in book 1 are crazy good. I almost feel awkward for drooling over a drawn image. Since I'm going to assume the readers have already checked out Frostbite in regular book form, there's no need to review, other than to comment on the art. The graphic novel versions are short summaries of the books with added pictures. My favorite images are still of Rose and Dimitri. The artist got these the closest to the book description. Adrian and Christian are decent but not as good as R&D. I'm not fond of Lissa, Mia and Mason's artwork but I didn't care because my favorite characters were drawn well. Why didn't I know before now that Eddie is a blonde?!? All this time, I thought he had dark hair. Color me suprised. Adrian is now on the scene (switched out with RM'S blog pic because hers wasn't fuzzy like mine) Christian's becoming a badass Rose gets her turn Rose and her Dimka share a kiss (since you can't see what that says...Rose tells Dimitri, "you still have things to teach me." He responds, "yes, lots of things." I'm pretty sure that's a nice little innuendo not having anything to do with fight training...) Back flap picture Are you a fan of Richelle Mead? Ohmygoodness! Tears of joy. Tears of joy. I. CANNOT. WAIT. THAT. LONG!! Friggin April? For real? Haha, I'm just sooo glad that they're making not only just the first book into a graphic novel, but the WHOLE SERIES :D I have no idea how I'm gonna wait when they start making the graphic novel for the THRID book. Which is kinda sorta probably like my favorite book in the series. All the action and what-not ;D But the worst part is the end. Which I will prolly cry yet again when it comes.

Ok so I completely enjoyed this graphic more so then the first one!! I feel like we get more out of the story and it is all blended very well together, making each transition smoother...with a graphic novel I have so far noticed that if the transition between scenes isn't smooth it doesn't work well. I'm glad again they stuck to the story, showcasing all the important parts, while showing us the kind of girl Rose is and how awesome she really is. And btw they made Adrian look so hot I these haha, Ok so I completely enjoyed this graphic more so then the first one!! Sadly they cut a lot out, but that was to be expected. Beautifully rendered, although at times i was left criticising the artists work. WHO HAS THEIR EYES HALF WAY UP THEIR FOREHEADS?! It was like they just didn't bother.

Somehow I liked this one better than the first one. I'm not sure why but it's how I feel. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that it was a pretty amazing graphic novel. Adrian looked amazing, just like how I would picture him. And as always Dimitri looked very hot! ^_^ Every Vampire Academy fan should read these graphic novels. You won't be disappointed!

Adrian...mmmm... Adrian was in this one. I love him. He totally redeems this series for me. And can I just say, he's drawn quite handsomely. Adrian aside, these graphic novels aren't horrible. It's nice to have a visual to go along with the books. I will say that I don't find Lissa beautiful like how she's described in the books. These are pure fun. That's pretty much it. They are making me enjoy the series a little more. Not quite sure why lol.

Najlepšie na týchto grafických novelách je to, že ich môžete čítať s niekým súčasne... a keď je ten niekto rovnako zbláznený a "na prášky" do Vampire Academy ako ja, tak ten zážitok stojí za to!!! No a tá ilustrácia...NO COMMENT!!! :DDDDDD

Like the first in the series, this graphic novel followed pretty well along the original series' story line. I could have done without all the "catch up" that was at the beginning, but I assume that's for people who might not have read the novels or jumped in the middle of the graphic novels. The art still amazes me and I was happy to see that the art reflected my ideas of the characters as I read the original novels. Rose is definitely looking badass and Christian – *sigh* I love Christian – is looking like he’s ready to kick someone’s ass with his Fire powers. I am loving this cover, way more than the first book. THE SET UP: In the first beginning pages of the graphic novel, they go into great detail about the world and what has already happened in the first book. They did such a great job that I think that even if you didn’t read the books or even the first graphic novel, you wouldn’t feel lost at all. It’s a nice refresher for loyal fans and a great recap for new ones. A+ job on that! THE ART: I know I said that I wasn’t too thrilled about the art in the first graphic novel. I’m going to eat my words. In this one, I thought the pictures were far more clearer, the angles and POVs moved the story forward and the action sequences definitely kicked some serious ass! The one character that I’m still a little meh about is Lissa. She looks better in this one for sure, but it’s something about her elongated nose that doesn’t fit her face. Christian grew on me more and more. And Mason – oh, Mason! – he looked cute as a button! And then there’s the introduction of a major character that I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT! Someone smack me on the side of the head! How could I forget? I think I was just really focused on the whole thing with Mason and knowing what’s going to happen that I forgot about my boyfriend, Adrian Ivashkov. Adrian, Adrian, Adrian. Let me just spit it out – HE LOOKED SMOKING!!! Definitely my favorite visual adaptation in the novels so far! He looked exactly how I pictured him in my head! Another A+ job on him! THE STORY: The major thing I was looking forward to was seeing how they would depict the Mason part. One word: Amazing! And for some reason, at that one particular scene, I just happened to get something in my eye. Really. It was weird. THE BOTTOM LINE: I LOVED IT! It had everything I loved about the books and more! After reading this, I’m tempted to go back and reread the entire VA series caused it reminded me of how much I’ve enjoyed it.

The graphic novel adaptation of Richelle Mead’s popular vampire series tells the story of 17-year old Rose Hathaway, a half-human mortal in training to become one of the select bodyguards who protect vampire royalty. Vampire races are divided into three sects, the evil, bloodthirsty Strigoi; the Moroi, magical vampires who only use violence in defense; and Dhampirs – like Rose – half-moroi who train at Vladimir’s Academy to serve as defenders. Rose hopes to graduate in order to protect her best The graphic novel adaptation of Richelle Mead’s popular vampire series tells the story of 17-year old Rose Hathaway, a half-human mortal in training to become one of the select bodyguards who protect vampire royalty. Vampire races are divided into three sects, the evil, bloodthirsty Strigoi; the Moroi, magical vampires who only use violence in defense; and Dhampirs – like Rose – half-moroi who train at Vladimir’s Academy to serve as defenders. Rose hopes to graduate in order to protect her best friend, Moroi princess, Lissa. In this second installment of the series, Rose and her hunky mentor Dimitri, 23, have recovered from a lust spell that was cast between them, but Rose cannot shake the memories of her intimate moments with Dimitri and longs for him to be more than just a teacher. Rose’s estranged mother appears – to the consternation of runaway Rose – and fists fly when their combat training gets out of hand and deep-seeded emotions of betrayal rise up. Rose has always lived in the shadow of her successful and emotionally detached mother – a Dhampir guard marked with badges of honor. Flirtatious, sexy, and bold, Rose is strong heroine who does not fall prey to victimhood. More akin to Buffy than Bella in the lineage of vampire love stories, she is impulsive and irrevocably human despite her Moroi blood. On the other hand, Rose’s friend and ward, Lissa, has a history of self-abuse and her prescribed anti-depressants limit the use of her Moroi magic. Real teen issues – living up to parental expectations, sexual awakening, low self-esteem and depression – are cloaked as vampire tale, enhancing the ability to relate to these mythic characters. As Dhampirs discover that Strigoi are using human allies to gain access to the Moroi elite and destroy them, Rose and her friends take matters into their own hands and confront the Strigoi, leading to a violent battle that brings Rose together with both her mother and her lover. Action-packed and briskly-paced, the story flows in neatly designed panels, and angles and asymmetrical lines convey a dynamic tension that propels the narrative forward. The story is prefaced by a blue- and gold-bordered prologue for readers who missed the first installment. Compelling characters, well-articulated panels, and tons of action make this a great read for fans of vampire romance, and a good introduction to the world of graphic novels. Some mature content including provocative illustrations and language make this a title for older teens.

I really enjoyed reading this graphic novel because I love having a clear picture of some of the events and the characters on paper. As in Frosbite, I loved the storyline, a lingering romance, action, and the spectacular drama that unfolds as you keep reading more further. I loved the growing romantic tension between Dimitri and Rose and I really enjoyed how they truly understand each other for who they are. Rose is still the same kick-ass, spitfire character as before and she provides humor and joy to this series. It was very nice to finally witness Adrian Isakova making his appearance and seeing his snarky comments in this book. Vampire Academy fans would find this graphic novel truly immersing and satisfying. Frosbite: The Graphic Novel is a fairly, interesting book, so I give this book 4 stars overall.

These graphic novels can be read by both those who've read the series and those who haven't. Leigh Dragoon made sure that the essence of Frostbite is in the pages of the graphic novel. The book starts off with a run down of the key players of the story. Then we move onto the story itself and all the extra filler that's not really important is removed. So, in the end we get the heart of the story. Not to mention the artwork that Emma Vieceli did is amazing. As I said in my first review, there isn't much I can say on this book as it is the second book of the original series just in picture form, so for me the story is all there and set out wonderfully. That is where the denomination of the 5th star comes from. Apart from that little flaw I can't fault this book. Mason was depicted not exactly how I would have pictured him, he was actually a lot hotter than I originally pictured him but well done nonetheless. The biggest draw dropper for me was Adrian. Holy moley that boy was drawn stunningly! Throughout the original book series, Adrian always had blonde hair to me, even though I knew he was brunette so to finally have a solid picture in my head makes it all the more wonderful. All I can say is that this graphic novel is brilliantly set out and bring on the next one :)

When you love a series as much as I did with the Vampire Academy, I will look for anything to revisit the characters again. Also, since I am starting to read more graphic novels lately, this book was able to fill both needs at one time. I really liked it, and thought it got the whole gist of Vampire Academy. However, with the graphic novel, you miss certain funny back and forth, or entire conversations that simply make the book. It's harder to empathize with Rose, because you don't fully get immersed into her thoughts.Yet, I think that's simply because it's a graphic novel and you can't cram it full, it just needs the important bits. Leigh Dragoon adapted it very well, and the witty thoughts are still there, making me laugh. It I really liked it, and thought it got the whole gist of Vampire Academy. I found myself getting enraptured with the story again and flying through the pages, I haven't read the books in a while and this reminded me how much I desperately need to re-visit them.

The storyline moved a little fast but then maybe that's the way it happens in graphic novel. It was my first graphic novel, and I just read the final fight 'cause that's where I had left the novel. But as I alreaady mentioned before, the book was too quick, and it lacked the kickass expressions/thoughts of Rose, which are one of the most important elements and was what made me fell in love with the book the first time.. I AM SO EXCITED! I ordered it off of Amazon a few days ago and it should be here within the week! I am totally obsessed with this series, and I know, I know for a fact, that this graphic novel will be just as awesome as the first one! :D I can hardly wait for the movie in 2013, but still, even then, I am going to be criticizing it so much because of how many times I've read the book, and the book series in general. However, as soon it's out, I'm going to go ape and buy tickets. I am so excited! I AM SO EXCITED! I ordered it off of Amazon a few days ago and it should be here within the week! The Graphic Novel book two is action packed. The characters are looking over their shoulders for Strigoi, (Which I have to add is amazingly drawn.) This plot is well thought out and planed. I enjoyed the art and helped bring the story to life. My favorite part of this book would have to be how the characters relationships develop and grow. My favorite relationship is Dimitri and Rose and their forbidden love. I like their playful, witty conversation. Lissa and Christian relationship is so cute. I don't know if it's just because the contractions are ruining my focus or what, but I didn't enjoy this edition as much as earlier books in the Vampire Academy series. It's fun to see the characters come to life through the art, but I'm also feeling like a lot of detail is being left out thinking back on the full books and how my imagination would run wild with it when I first read the series. Actually kind of makes me want to go back and read the originals.

This one, just like the actual series, gets alot better. I still do not like the artwork of these much, but there was an actual explanation of the world in this one and the story itself is much more interesting. Again, fans of the series should definitely check these out! They give a minds eye to what you are reading.

I knew that this would be a book I could get through quickly and where I wouldn’t have to concentrate too hard because I already knew the story and what to expect. Read the rest of my review here
